Deddington Cricket Club, situated in the North Oxfordshire countryside, could not survive without the many non playing members, Patrons and Sponsors who lend their support to us each year.
We hope that this site will help paint a picture of what we are doing, with that support, to maintain the cricketing tradition in Deddington that goes back over a hundred and fifty years.
Our aim is to provide an opportunity for all Parish members to participate and the construction of New Nets in 2009 has taken us a step closer to achieving that goal.
UMPIRESWANTED
Recently moved to Oxfordshire or just retired ?
Maybe hung up your playing boots but miss being involved on a weekly basis ?
Would like to be part of a vibrant cricket club ?
Would like to earn £500 + through the summer being involved in the game you love ?
Perhaps you have a colleague or friend who would enjoy it too ?
We are looking for 1 or 2 Umpires to represent Deddington Cricket Club in the OCA next season, 2011.
After the stirling work of Angus for several years, and most recently Den, we need to appoint 1 or 2 club members who are able to commit to most Saturday afternoons from May 1st to the end of August 2011.
It is a paid role and would involve umpiring OCA games in surrounding Oxfordshire villages.
Previous umpiring experience not essential as we will pay for an appropriate course during the Winter. A love of the game, and your commitment are the main qualifications required.
If this appeals in any way and you would like more information, please contact us by clicking this image........thank you.

Match Report:
Finaly Deddington batsmen back up their bowlers to secure a much needed win and dent Woottons promotion hopes. Wootton probably 30 runs short after a good start with a consistent top order lead by James S. Stu L and Ramesh C the pick of the DCC bowlers. Deddington eased home lead by James R with able support from Steve W and Luke J. Look forward to the return in 2 weeks
