NO WEDNESDAY LEAGUE FOR `09 (February 19, 2009)
A unanimous decision by the committee has lead to DCC not entering the Wednesday Mid Week League for `09 .
The task of picking a midweek side and preparing the ground has required a great deal of time and commitment from those that have admirably fulfilled the role. Particulaly in the current economic climate with its associated added pressures, it is not surprising that we have had no volunteers for `09.
Hugh, Dave and Ian, in particular, all gave huge amounts of time to ensure that the last few seasons have run smoothly and the club is very grateful for that commitment. Not to mention the extra work for Dennis on pitch prep and repair.
Reasons to be cheerful..... Part 1
With the arrival of our 2 new Nets in April/May, we have an opportunity to make Wednesday evenings "Nets Night".. this should be a real positive for everyone and an opportunity to coach and practice...in addition we have a bowling machine on order which should spice things up a bit!

There are still over 40 games on the fixture card for next season..so plenty to look forward to.
