In a tight finished slightly ruined by rain, but made up for by the spirit of the teams and the umpires, Radley won a low scoring match by 3 wickets.Deddington struggled to recover from the loss of early wickets with only David Webb 33 and crucially Chris Blackburn 68* getting into double figures. Tight bowling from all of the Radley bowlers meant that 134 always looked at least 20 runs too short.Radley appeared to be crising with Goodliffe and Webb then Naqvi batting well. Then Deddington's Andy Stiff back after 2 years of baby making came on to bowl his rarely used left arm spin. At one point his 4-17 looked to have turned the game, but Bowerman and Charman saw Radley home.To all concerned, Nial Bletchly who left the field after being struck on the head and after checkup at A+E appears to be fine. |

On a beautiful batting wicket, Deddington won the toss and at 91 for 2 after 29 overs looked set for a good score. However only David Webb 62 and Chris Balackburn 52 made any major impression and 162 looked competitive but maybe 30 runs short. When Chippy batted , at drinks they were 67 for 3 and looked like a close finish. However once Matt Wilson finished his spell of 12 overs for 12 runs , the back up Deddington bowlers could not bowl consistently like their Chippy counterparts.Adrian Underhill took full advantage of this will a powerful 51 no to cruise Chippy to victory with 10 overs to spare, 97 runs coming from the 13 overs after tea with extras 41 being 2 nd highest score.Once again a fantastic atmosphere between the 2 teams, a pleasure to play in |

Deddington won the toss and batted 1st. A first ever 50 by Jim Turbufield, ably supported by debutant Mark Wellstood 37, enabled the home side to set a good target of 182-5.Deddingtons young bowling attack ( 4 of who are under 20) with Ollie Redford making his debut, found it initially difficult to dislodge the Oxford Rescue batting which after 21 overs were 74-1. Jim Turbufield ( slightly older than 20) then completed a great day personally by bowling his spin?! to take 37-3 and help restrict the opposition.Ollie Redford 13, completed his debut by taking his first OCA wicket to win the match.Special mention must go to Eamon Devaney the 14 year old from Rescue who completed a wonderful 30 not out to almost give his side a real chance of winning. |

History was made for Deddington today and it was not the 150 run defeat!! Three Lady players, Denise Barbeary, Sam Sinclair and Niccie Shepherd all made their debuts. With Niccie being leading wickets taker against a consistent Oxenford batting display. In reply to an unassailable 215 for 4, Deddington only replied with 69, with Derek cheeseman not quite making his debut at 80 years old. Great credit must go to Oxenford who played the game in great spirit and consideration due to the strenth of the opposition. |

In a game with plenty of runs to be had for both teams, the difference was an excellent innings from Phil Lowe well supported by Adrian Brucker. Having reached 170-1, the Deddington bowlers fought back, led by Nick Worrell and Oli Redford to end the Chesterton innings on 253. A good start by openers Dave Webb and Mark Wellstood kept the game close but after few quick wickets Chesterton were able to take control with Mishra, Price, Lowe and Shirtcliff and Maiden wickets for Michael Teale. |

On a good batting track in very hot conditions, Deddington won the toss and elected to bat. However, some steady accurate bowling and some not so good batting ( polite i think) meant that Deddington struggled to 106 all out leaving Captain David Webb to carry his bat for 50 Not Out, next highest scorer extras 20. Full credit must go to Charlbury's youngster with Max Lucas taking 6 for 27, and then when Deddington felt they had a chance to win, Sam Haselgrove with the bat. Charlbury were 48-5 after 22 overs when he came in and with mature batting supported by his skipper Glen McCallum, Sam scored an excellent 42 not out to take Charlbury to, in the end, a comfortable victory. Oh what the Deddington skipper would have done for that support:o) Must be stated that as always it is a great pleasure playing Charlbury due to their attitude and look forward to meeting them later on in the season. |

Two partnerships enabled Deddington to set a competitive target of 164-8. The first of 55 between D.Webb and Mark Welstood and then crucially, 77 between veteran Adrian Bletchly and Andy Morris scoring his career best 35. In reply, Wescott batted steadily, but with Matt Wilson dismissing the first 5 batsmen, they were always just behind. Again in opposition it is impressive to see some very talented younsters coming through, in this case George Dalton who bowled and batted excellently. For Deddington this was the best team performance of the season. |

For the second week running the team batting first did not get enough runs - last week it was us! Good bowling and fielding from Radley kept Deddington down to 82, with some good catches held (and my hand still hurts), which was not enough on a decent bating track. Excellent spirit in the game, and congratulations to Dave Webb (theirs not ours!) for whatever milestone he achieved today. |

A very enjoyable game played between two sides who played the game competitively but also in good spirit. |

Chesterton outplayed Deddington to win the League title and fully deserved to. Captain Alfi Appleton led the way with a fine 55, and with the team struggling with 6 wickets down, Ami Mishra andDuncan Teale batted really well together to set a competitive target. Deddington were reasonably confident but excellent bowling by Lee Price who dismissed the top 3 batsmen , all in top form, ended any real hope. Only Gary Chpman showed resistance with 24. Congratulations to Chesterton, shame we are not playing them next year. |
